Careers in Science (CiS)

Careers in Science is a multi-year, year-round paid internship and youth development program for San Francisco youth who come from communities typically underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) fields.
- Grades: 9-12 (must apply in grade 9 or 10)
- Commitment: 2-3 years
- Schedule: Training and work hours vary during school year and summer
- Cost: CiS interns are paid Academy employees

Academy Naturalist Teen (ANT) Volunteer

Are you a teen who is interested in inspiring others to explore the natural world? Volunteer with us and help Academy guests of all ages learn, tinker, and investigate, while gaining skills in public speaking and informal science engagement.
- Ages: Participants must be between the ages of 15-17
- Commitment: 3 months
- Schedule: We offer spring and fall sections, ANTs are expected to consistently attend a 10:30 AM - 2:00 PM shift every other Saturday
- Cost: There is no cost to participate
